Mini Munny

Veljeni kävi alkukesästä pitkään haaveilemallaan matkalla New Yorkissa. Tuliaisina sain häneltä mm. tämän pienen Kidrobotin Munnyn. Munny on toistaiseksi löytänyt paikkansa vanhan valaisimen juurelta, joka on 5 euron löytö kesän kirpputorikierrokselta.

Munny on ns. tee-se-itse "lelu" jonka voi taiteilla väreillä yms. mieleisekseen. Täältä Kidrobotin sivuilla olevasta kuvagalleriasta löytyy toinen toistaan hienompia Munny-taideteoksia. Minun Munny taitaa kyllä jäädä valkoiseksi...

My Brother made a trip to New York earlier this summer. It was a trip he'd been dreaming about for a long time. As a little present he brought me this Kidrobot Mini Munny, a "Do-It-Yourself" toy. This little guy found his place next to my new flea market find, the old lamp that cost only 5 euros.

The Enlightenment

While netsurfing last week, I came across this lamp in the form of a book. If you are a book lover I think this could be THE thing in your bookshelf.

Not a heavy book, a light book! 'Inspired by bestseller such as the Bible, Koran and Thora, we designed an object for lighting and enlightment. A book as a light. A light as a book: The Enlightenment' says Studiomeiboom. Studiomeiboom has launched the 'Light up your world' project which plans to throw a new light on a world famous designs.

The Enlightenment is made of white plexiglas, 24 cm high, 17 cm wide and 8 cm deep and is supplied with a 9 watt energy-saving lamp. It costs 89 € with 10 % of the sales going to charity. Every purchase brings a bit more light!

Panic!

My brother decided to take a little break from the renovation and went for a little holiday to London, He'll be back on sunday. He was kind enough to ask me if I want him to bring me something. Hmm... what would it be? Something small and cheap! Oh my, I think I'm running out of time. He'll be back home before I know what I want...

Well, I did ask him to bring me Tord Boontje's black Garland light from Habitat because it's so cheap, only £ 14,40. I already have the silver one in my bedroom so I actually don't know where to put this one, but girl's got to have it!

But what else...

Slide Show

It must be more than few years now, when I first came across this Slide Light by SUCK UK 2000. Now I found it again and this time from the SUCK UK´s own website. I have to admit that I had forgotten it already, but nevertheless I think it is still kinda cool way to display those artistic snaps of your family, friends, holidays etc.

Bright Light!

Have you seen the new bright light designed by Eero Aarnio?! Innosol Origo is a beautiful design bright light that can be used as a cosy interior lamp outside the bright light therapy season, thanks to its dimmer. The entire lamp shade is of flexible and durable plastic (of course) giving an effective, globally dispersed light.

Greetings from Finland

We are living the darkest time of the year here in Finland but there is no need to get depressed. This being my first post I want to present you a beautiful lamp called TRE, by Finnish designer Elina Järvinen.

TRE by Elina Järvinen, photo Kristiina Kurronen

TRE is a lamp with two qualities that every lamp should have. It gives light without dazzling and it is visually pleasing with or without light. TRE lamps are made in Finland.

Elina Järvinen is the Designer of the Month in Design Forum Finland.
